Electrical Building Safety Inspections

In Broward and Miami-Dade Counties, building safety inspections, also known as 25-year, 30-year, 40-year, or 50-year inspections, are required for aging buildings in order to identify potential safety concerns that need to be addressed. The building recertification programs require structural and electrical inspections of these buildings by a registered Florida engineer.

If you are a building owner or property manager and have received a letter requiring a building recertification, the structural and electrical building safety inspections must be completed, and reports must be submitted within 90 days from the date of notice.
